PROGNOSE ELLER KAOS / PROGNOSIS OR CHAOS — hand-carved recycled XPS foam relief, installed at Ringsted Galleriet as part of FORSTADIER / PRECURSORS. The title and carving rewrite the 1935 Danish Social Democratic electoral slogan “STAUNING ELLER KAOS” — Stauning or Chaos — in which the party presented its leader and the welfare state project as the only alternative to political collapse. Replacing “Stauning” with “Prognose” shifts the slogan from the language of political leadership into the language of the clinic, where the promise of order and security has been recast as a medical procedure: something to be requested, waited for and potentially withheld. The carved figure combines a human hand with arthropod anatomy — part welfare state worker, part woodlouse, reaching across the same threshold. FORSTADIER / PRECURSORS is a duo exhibition with Aske Thiberg (@askweee), circling the iconography of the healthcare system — the clinical room, the language of care, the institutional forms — with detours into bias in language models, datasets, isolation and alienation.
