FRIHED, LIGHED OG SUNDHED / FREEDOM, EQUALITY AND HEALTH — leaflets, Ringsted Galleriet and Midt- og Vestsjællands Hospital, 2026. Part of FORSTADIER / PRECURSORS, a duo exhibition with Aske Thiberg (@askweee). Curated by Morten K Jacobsen. Two leaflets accompany the exhibition at both venues. The first is a practical guide to the blue woodlouse — its biology, its habits, its unexpected history as a crustacean that left the sea and learned to breathe air, carrying the memory of saltwater in a body built for somewhere else. The second features a text by Adam Bencard, historian of medicine and associate professor at the Medical Museion, University of Copenhagen: INTET LIV LEVER ALENE / NO LIFE LIVES ALONE. Bencard writes from the history of microbiology and the politics of cohabitation — about what it would mean to stop thinking antibiotically, against life, and start thinking probiotically, with it. About hospitals, bacteria, woodlice and the difficulty of living well alongside others. The woodlouse, it turns out, is not a bad place to start. Both leaflets are designed and printed by the artist, and free to take at both venues. DM to purchase a copy if you cannot make it to the show. FORSTADIER / PRECURSORS circles the iconography of the healthcare system — the clinical room, the language of care, the institutional forms — with detours into bias in language models, datasets, isolation and alienation. At the hospital, the leaflets sit alongside the video LEDDYRSOMSORG / ARTHROPOD CARE, full-scale sculptures and hand-carved signs. On view until 11 April 2026.
